Community Activities

Adopt-A-Mile

Adopt-A- Mile . . . one of the ways the club tries to give a little back to the community.  Dalton and the surrounding areas provide a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family, and as members of this community, we want to do our part to keep it attractive and a pleasant corner of the world in which to both work and play.  Three or four times a year we put feet to this desire by picking up the trash along Tibbs Road from Walnut Avenue to the bridge over I-75.  All is not work, however, as we meet early to get in a little group run for those interested, and then after the trash pickup, we pile into a local restaurant for breakfast.

But wait, there's more . . . the running club actually picks up the tab for breakfast so not only do you get to do a good deed, you also get rewarded for it with more than just a handshake or a good feeling (although you do get both of those).  And believe me, I feel pretty good after an easy early morning run with friends, performing my civic duty, and then getting a full stomach at Cracker Barrel.  There's not much downside to a morning like that, so I hope you will try to join us as your schedule allows.
